"For to me to live and to die is gain"

Philippians 1:21

I began songwriting when I was in the 5th grade, although I didn't realize it at the time.  I remember we had to write a poem for a class assignment and my teacher didn't believe I wrote it.  She thought I copied it from some book.  I believe I was in the 6th grade when my mom signed my sister and I up for guitar classes and pretty soon, the two activities merged.

I remember listening a lot to old country singers.  My dad would rack them up on the stereo at bed time and we'd listen to Kenny Rogers, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash and more.  I really liked John Denver and his style of writing was very easy to follow.  After coming to Christ just before my 21st birthday my attention changed and I began writing about my Savior, Jesus Christ.

I work full time as a desk jockey.  Songwriting is my passion and I know that the fulfillment of that passion will be in heaven, where I will get to sing, everything I ever wrote for Him...to Him.  I can't wait!
