About

Romans 6:18 Being made free from sin, you became bondservants of righteousness.

How would I describe my music? That's a great question.  Lately, I would say I am a Christian, "counter cultural" writer IF that is a thing.  What does that mean exactly?  I believe Scripture is the place we should go to gain "God delivered" understanding of our world and our culture.  Too often we form our views of God and this world based on what is happening around us and try to interpret scripture in a way that allows us to fit the world and its culture into our pre-defined ideas of fairness, justice...and life.

I think that needs to be flipped on its head and we go to the Bible and understand what the full counsel of God says on a matter.  We then interpret our world based on what He has told us it actually is.  He tells us "the heart of man is desperately wicked" so if I begin forming a position on something with the idea that "man deep down is good and just and fair" then I am going to end up starting with a wrong assumption of the root cause of an issue and put my energy into the wrong types of activities that lead to outcomes that I may not be prepared for.

The bottom line is I consider myself more of a story teller than a songwriter, but isn't that what a good songwriter is supposed to do?  Write in a way that tells a story, interjects meaning and engages their audience?  That is my main objective in my song writing.

I write and sing about topics that are relevant to me, have eternal messages and in most songs, point the world to the One who truly provides all our meaning ...Jesus Christ.

What this means is that some of my songs are convicting...at least they are to me.

A friend of mine described me as "the singing prophet" :)  I like that!

Time is short people, focus on what matters most.  I pray my songs encourage and challenge you to live each day with the goal of being "conformed into the image of Christ" and that we all become His Bondservants!

"Woe to You" is a song based on Matthew 23 where Jesus listed a number of "Woe to You" indictments against the Pharisees.  The Pharisees were the Jewish religious leaders of the day.  Today in America a new class of "religious leaders" tends to believe they are the moral equivalent...however they have no godliness in them.  This song explains the hypocrisy of our leaders who with cheers and gladness, celebrate the legalization of infanticide and their undying support for the abortion industry.
